A woman allegedly threatening people with a knife was fatally shot Sunday by Long Beach police, a sergeant said.

The trouble began outside a Jack in the Box and the woman who was killed was a transient, according to media reports.
Paramedics treated the wounded woman at the scene and took her to a hospital, where she later died, according to Richardson.
Her name was withheld pending notification of kin.
It’s not yet known what prompted the use of deadly force by police.
No other injuries were reported.
