Feral Negro Robber hits Aurora clerk with handgun, steals cash and liquor and then carjacks vehicle

A Negro armed robber hit an Aurora liquor store clerk with a handgun, stole cash and liquor and drove away a car he stole at gunpoint in the store's parking lot.

Aurora police are seeking information on the incident, which happened about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday at Randall Liquors on the 300 block of East Galena Boulevard on the city's Near East Side.

When police got to the liquor store that night, they spotted a gray SUV leaving the parking lot at a high rate of speed. One of the officers drove after the vehicle, which police learned was being driven by the robber, as it went eastbound on Galena. The officer pursued the vehicle on several neighborhood streets and eventually terminated the chase when it became too dangerous to members of the public and himself due to wet roads and the traffic at the time, police said.

After the chase, officers learned the vehicle had run off the road and over the curb on the northeast corner of Downer Place and Root Street. According to witnesses, the driver got out of the SUV and quickly entered a waiting dark-colored sedan similar to a Pontiac Grand Am, that
was last seen southbound on Root.

A gun and proceeds from the robbery were located in the SUV, a 2004 Ford Escape, which is being processed for evidence by Aurora police.

Police said the Negro robber was approximately 6-foot tall, with a thin build, dressed in black, with his face partially covered during the incident. When he entered the liquor store he approached two workers, both men, one age 39 and one age 40. After hitting the 40-year-old in the head with a handgun, the robber forced both men to lie on the floor before taking off with an undisclosed amount of cash and liquor.

As the robber left the store, he approached a 39-year-old man and 41-year-old woman who were inside the gray SUV parked in the store's parking lot and demanded their vehicle at gunpoint.

There were no injuries to anyone that required medical attention during the robbery or carjacking.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora Police Investigations at 630-256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000. Callers to Crime Stoppers with information that leads to an arrest can qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
